Midnight Lace Teddy

Most teddies are a single piece of stretch lace with no internal structure, which is why they look better on a hanger than on a body. This one is built like a bra from the waist up.

The cups

Moulded lace cups on an underwire, with a centre gore that sits flat against the sternum and a bow where the two cups meet. That underwire is the difference: it separates and lifts rather than flattening, and it holds its shape through a whole evening. The rest of the garment hangs off that structure.

The front panel

Below the cups the lace opens into cut-out panels running down the centre front, joined at the waist and again at the hip. Sheer floral lace fills the sides.

The fastenings

Adjustable shoulder straps, a hook-and-eye closure at the back so you can put it on the way you would a bra, and a snap gusset. Nothing here needs to be pulled over your head.
