Almost everything in a lingerie drawer is lace. This set is the opposite argument: plain matte fabric, hard lines, and shape made by what has been cut away rather than by pattern.

The bra

Moulded underwire cups in a smooth matte fabric, with a keyhole opening cut above each cup and a single strap running horizontally beneath the underband. The cups are lined and give real lift — this is a constructed bra, not a bralette with decoration.

The brief

High waisted, built from horizontal straps that run across the hip and stomach with open space between them, joining into a solid panel at the front and back. It sits above the natural waist, which is what keeps the strap spacing even rather than bunching.

Why matte, not lace

Matte fabric holds a hard edge. A cut-out in lace softens and curls at the opening within a few wears; in a bonded matte knit it stays a clean line. That is the whole reason this set reads graphic instead of pretty.

Fit notes

Buy the bra on your usual bra size. The brief is the piece to think about — strap briefs have very little give across the hip because the gaps do not stretch, only the straps do. If your hip measurement is at the top of a size range, take the next size up; a strapped brief that is tight leaves marks and the spacing distorts.

Worth knowing before you buy

The open construction means this set is not something to wear under clothing — every strap prints. It is a piece for being seen in.

Wash by hand, cold, with the hooks fastened. The straps tangle around each other and around anything else in the load, so keep the two pieces together in one mesh bag and nothing else with them. Never tumble dry: the elastic in a strap brief is doing all the work, and heat ends it.
